Privacy Policy — Koffeesome

Koffeesome (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates koffeesome.com and the Koffeesome mobile application (the “Service”). This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address, a username you choose, and an optional profile photo. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and Google profile picture from Google’s OAuth service.

Brew logs and content

We store the brew logs, tasting notes, match scores, photos, and other content you voluntarily submit through the Service.

Location data

The “Nearby cafes” feature requests your device location. Location is used only to find cafes near you and is never stored on our servers. You can deny the location permission and the rest of the Service continues to work normally.

Usage data

We may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, timestamps) to operate and improve the Service.

2. How we use your information

To create and manage your account
To display your brew logs and profile to you and, if your account is public, to other users
To provide location-based features you request (nearby cafes)
To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset)
To monitor service health and diagnose technical issues

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Third-party services

Google OAuth — used for sign-in. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Hosting & infrastructure — the Service runs on cloud infrastructure. Your data may be stored on servers located in the European Union or United States.

4. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at hello@koffeesome.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of your request.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@koffeesome.com.

6. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
