1888 Coffee Company brings the coffee of the Ruiz Galindo family estate to the US — one of North America’s oldest family-owned coffee plantations, established over 130 years ago in the Huatusco region above the port of Veracruz, Mexico, on the volcanic slopes of Pico de Orizaba. All drying, milling, roasting and packaging is done at the estate; the coffee is shade-grown, hand-picked 100% Arabica, medium-roasted in small batches and cupped with a licensed Q Grader. In Oakland it runs 1888 Coffee Station, a take-away window café by Lake Merritt serving the beans alongside breakfast and lunch. Source: 1888coffee.com.
