Cafecito Organico
Silver Lake, Los Angeles, CA
Cafecito Organico is a Los Angeles coffee company founded in July 2004 by Guatemalan-born Angel Orozco, who began home-roasting coffee after studying Urban Planning and Latin American Studies at UCLA and traveling through the coffee-growing regions of Guatemala, El Salvador, and Mexico. What started as a home roaster selling at the Silverlake Farmers Market grew into small-batch roasting and direct trade with small growers and family farms, principally in Central America, since 2004 — paying a fair price so producers can sustain their livelihoods. Cafecito Organico now runs retail cafés in Silver Lake and Atwater Village alongside coffee subscriptions and wholesale. Source: cafecitoorganico.com, Food GPS, Food Woolf, LA Weekly.
