Sam James Coffee Bar opened on Harbord Street in 2009 and helped define Toronto’s independent espresso-bar scene. Founded by former competition barista Sam James, it now roasts its own coffee in Toronto and runs bars on Harbord, in Parkdale on Brock Avenue, on Ossington and down in the PATH under King Street West, while its beans are poured at more than 20 cafés. The range covers the Butter Knife and Espresso in Bloom blends, Buzz Lite and rotating single origins.
