Founded in Göttingen in 2023 by Lukas Weiglein, Sandbox Coffee Roasters set out to make specialty coffee approachable for everyone, bringing curiosity and playful experimentation to sourcing and roasting. The team builds direct, transparent relationships with farmers and importers so producers are paid fairly for quality beans, and works with eco-conscious roasting methods. Depulped cherries undergo a 12-hour aerobic farm-level fermentation, then a cherry concentrate and proprietary solution are added for a two-day absorption/fermentation phase before 12-16 days of patio drying.
