Mast Coffee Company was founded in 2012 by Sacramento native Michael Sanchez and co-founder Stephen Mentze, who drove from Roseville to Idaho to buy a used tabletop commercial roaster to get started. It now runs two Sacramento café-and-roastery locations — Broadway/Land Park and Midtown — each with a full kitchen, emphasizing sustainable, ethically-sourced coffee and plastic-free packaging.
