A self-taught couple, Justine Lee and Danny Chuong, opened the original 18 Grams café in 2017 from late-night college coffee-shop memories, blending standard café staples with Asian-inspired specialties. In 2020 they opened a dedicated roastery at the Howe ’Bout Arden center in Sacramento, where they import and roast their own Vietnamese beans in-house — signature drinks include condensed-milk coffee and ube lattes alongside precision-roasted specialty coffee.
