Milka Coffee Roasters is a Sacramento roastery founded and roasted by Samir Benouar, who discovered specialty coffee while getting his master’s degree in Manhattan and working as a Brooklyn barista before returning to his hometown. Small batches (~70 lbs/week) are roasted on a San Franciscan SF-6 in a converted 1861 Victorian house in the Mansion Flats neighborhood. The business name honors Benouar’s great-grandmother, Milka Radonich, a former Sacramento small-business owner. Its former second location on R Street has permanently closed.
