Bubble gum, warm spice, cherry and tamarind on the nose; ripe cherry, watermelon, pomegranate, carob and sour-cherry cake in a heavy, velvety cup with molasses sweetness. If it were a drink, Null says, it would be glögg.

Basil, blueberry and kaffir lime on the nose; pink grapefruit, green grape and lime in the cup with a crackling, mineral, popping-candy liveliness. Citric, tartaric and phosphoric acidity, medium body and a short, refreshing finish — Null likens it to a basil-sherbet mocktail.

Rose, hibiscus and linden blossom on the nose; strawberry, lime, blood orange, cherry and pomegranate on a creamy, marzipan-like texture. Honey and fruit-sugar sweetness and more body than most Kenyans. In one word, Null says: Negroni.

A perfume of narcissus, basil and cedar; black mulberry and forest fruit, cherry and orange, then cooked-fruit sweets like plum, fruit leather and candied pumpkin, with chestnut, walnut and a hint of green olive. Dense and clean.

A perfume-like nose of violet, lily, orange blossom, citronella, rose lokum and vanilla. Orange and lemon lead, followed by mango, pineapple and stone fruit; as it cools, Fuji apple, quince, grape and strawberry appear before a nutty, milk-chocolate finish. Floral honey sweetness, medium body.

Bubble gum, melon, pineapple and banana on the nose; melon, pineapple, cranberry, red apple, quince and orange with a touch of cream and chocolate. Strong malic and citric acidity, very sweet — a fresh-fruit mocktail on a tropical island.

Tropical fruit, melon, blackberry, vanilla blossom and rose on the nose; in the cup a long list of fruit from mango and peach to dragon fruit and freeze-dried strawberry, swinging between chocolate-syrup and tropical sweetness. Citric, tartaric and malic acidity; oily, round body. Clean but funky — Null calls it a luxury tropical fruit salad.
