Blackboard Coffee Roasters
Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, QLD, Australia
Blackboard Coffee Roasters began on the Gold Coast in 2013, when finding a truly great cup there felt nearly impossible, and still roasts every coffee in small batches on a Loring at its Burleigh Heads HQ — 100% Queensland owned. In 2024 Danny Andrade joined as co-owner and managing director, bringing close relationships with producers and novel processing techniques; he went on to win the 2026 Australian Coffee Roasting Championship. The range runs from signature espresso blends (Seasonal, Bold, Organic, Dark) to single-origin filter and espresso, experimental limited releases and exclusive Special Reserve nano-lots. Blackboard supplies over 25 cafés and ships to home brewers; there is no walk-in café.
