Indie Coffee Roasters
Carmel, IN, USA
Indie Coffee Roasters is a Carmel, Indiana roaster started by Alec and Jenny Tod, who began roasting on a Whirly Pop popcorn maker in 2013, and partners Diane and Kevin McAndrews. Its first coffee shop opened in January 2018 in Carmel’s Arts & Design District on East Main Street, followed by shops in West Lafayette’s Provenance community, Carmel’s North End and, in 2024, Federal Hill Commons in Noblesville. The house Circle (medium) and Silhouette (dark) blends sit alongside rotating single origins, and Indie supplies cafés, offices and custom-label retail bags.

The most fresh medley of ripe fruits bursts from this cup. Its silky, jammy sweetness is balanced perfectly with vibrant, juicy tropical fruit acidity. The beautiful taste of golden apricot lingers in a soft and subtle aftertaste. This coffee is a spectacular showcase of the ecology of Costa Rica. Strawberry Jam, Pineapple, Apricot

Treat your tastebuds with this candy masquerading as coffee! This limited blend bursts with candy-like sweetness and the glossy mouthfeel it leaves behind. Make the kid inside happy and watch out for the sugar high! Like a magic trick, the Costa Rica Natural Catuai from Aromas del Chirripó blends with the Colombia Anaerobic Washed from Los Naranjos to create a candy bag of goodness. Each sip may evoke a different sucker or fruit chew memory, the brightness of the Colombian terroir playing perfectly with the fruitiness of the Costa Rican. Gummy Worms, Jolly Ranchers, Trick or Treating

This blend is the answer to everything and is for everyone! It is balanced and full of chocolate and sweet notes, and will taste great on any brew method. So Why the name Circle? We choose the name Circle because a great cup of coffee should be a part of your daily rhythm, and like rhythms, circles are continual. We also believe that community or inner circles are one of the most important things in our lives, and are the best people to share a cup of coffee with. A terrific anytime coffee, this smooth and comforting brew offers a full and beautiful flavor experience. Cocoa richness, enhanced with almond creaminess and a sweet-tart pop of cherry create a layered depth and sweetness in this decaf. With clean finish, it’s a coffee that can be versatile for any kind of brew, anytime of day, sans the caffeine. Source: indiecoffeeroasters.com (roaster’s own copy).
Dark Chocolate, Almond, Cherry

This blend is full of rich flavor with a heavy body, and satisfying chocolate notes. We chose the name Silhouette to both represent something darker and because we wanted to offer a coffee that should be showcased and put on display. Silhouettes have been showcased for generations, and just like this coffee, they offer some beauty to every room. Source: indiecoffeeroasters.com (roaster’s own copy).
