COFFEE LONG SEASON opened in February 2022 in a converted kissaten that had run for over 40 years, in the Nishitanabe backstreets of Abeno Ward. Owner Takuya Okita (ex-Takamura Coffee, ex-Coffee County Fukuoka) roasts on a Probat L05, keeps four or five single origins on at a time and serves drip only. Several of its green coffees are shared each year by Coffee County.

Colombia María Cenaida Flor Yellow Bourbon

María Cenaida Flor started growing coffee about 20 years ago through a school coffee programme and now farms it alongside fruit trees, cassava and maize. Only bright-yellow ripe cherries are picked, every 15 days, then fermented 28 hours in cherry and 24 hours after pulping and dried for about 14 days in a parabolic dryer kept under 35 °C. Exported through Banexport. 150 g.

Honduras Job Neel Cáceres Díaz Pacas

Job grew up in his father's coffee business, worked abroad, and on returning to Honduras in 2008 used his savings to buy more land. Friends talked him into entering the Cup of Excellence, where he placed second, and he has put the last 13 years entirely into coffee. Green coffee shared by Coffee County. 150 g.

Kenya Thunguri AB

"Thunguri" means "hill" in Kikuyu. 1,057 smallholders in the Mukurwe-ini valley grow for this factory, founded in 1961, which has its own wet mill, drying tables for 40 t of parchment and a dry mill. The shop chose the AB grade to soften Kenya's heft and add complexity. Green coffee shared by Coffee County. 150 g.

Peru Lucia Quispe Bourbon

Finca Tunki sits near Lake Titicaca in Puno and is named after the Andean cock-of-the-rock, Peru's national bird. It belongs to the Inkawasi cooperative. A washed Bourbon the shop compares to a Geisha: white flowers and muscat like Champagne, with a long caramel finish. Green coffee shared by Coffee County. 150 g.
