Copa Vida
Pasadena, CA
Copa Vida is a Pasadena-born specialty coffee and tea company that has roasted its own single origins and blends on its own Diedrich roaster since 2015, out of a dedicated roasting facility in Pasadena. Founded by a husband-and-wife team and run day-to-day by Frank La and Sam Hong (both formerly of Café Dulce), Copa Vida believes good coffee, tea, and food are more than products to sell — they're a platform for community. The roastery's own coffee is served at its Pasadena flagship and Glendale café. Source: copa-vida.com, dailycoffeenews.com.

Our first harvest from Jose Enrique Meza and the BECASA team in Olancho made an immediate impression; enough that we committed to returning for the next crop. BECASA's Parainema and Lempira grow with an unusually thoughtful approach to both quality and sustainability, prioritizing soil health, clean water, and opportunity within the communities that produce them — coffee husks are transformed into organic fertilizer and returned to the land, while BECASA invests in local producers and women in leadership. Chocolate, Fruit, Easy

Our Natural Ethiopia Guji Gigesa is sourced from smallholder farmers near the village of Gigesa, just outside Shakiso in Guji Zone. The area's red clay soil, high elevation (1900-2000 MASL), and cool mountain climate create ideal conditions for slow cherry development. Ripe cherries are hand-picked, floated for quality, then dried on raised beds in the sun for up to three weeks. Source: copa-vida.com.
