Roasteries / Caravan Coffee Roasters

Caravan Coffee Roasters
London & Manchester, UK
Caravan started in early 2010 on Exmouth Market, founded by three friends — Laura Harper-Hinton, Miles Kirby and Chris Ammerman — who met working in restaurants in New Zealand and brought their shared love of good food, exceptional coffee and warm, down-to-earth hospitality to London. What began as a single all-day restaurant has grown into a group of restaurant-cafés across London and Manchester, roasting its own coffee — 'food that's inspired by our travels, coffee that's roasted down the road.' Caravan is a certified B Corp. Source: caravanandco.com

A balanced, smooth, everyday blend built to work equally well as espresso or filter — classic, thick-bodied, low acidity, clean finish. Source: caravanandco.com
Hazelnut · Caramel · Chocolate

Decaffeinated in Colombia's Cauca mountains using a sugarcane by-product process that imparts tropical sweetness — clean and sweet enough for espresso or filter. Source: caravanandco.com
Chocolate Brownie · Maple Syrup · Poached Pear

Sourced through Raw Material from the Kilimbi washing station on Lake Kivu, accessible only by boat. Unusually small beans that wouldn't normally be exported were sorted by density and cupped separately, letting farmers earn better prices for this part of the harvest. Source: caravanandco.com
Plum · Baked Apple · Brown Sugar

Caravan's cornerstone espresso blend, unchanged in spirit since 2010. Sourced from producers Caravan maintains ongoing relationships with, roasted to highlight lively fruit notes while keeping overall balance and high sweetness. Source: caravanandco.com
Honeycomb · Stone Fruit · Berries

Processed by brothers Kevin & Kenny Soewondo, who run a roastery in Surabaya and process cherry from predominantly Madurese farmers around Mt Ijen. Cherries undergo two days of anaerobic fermentation before drying, hulling and optical sorting. Source: caravanandco.com
Blackberry · Whisky · Orange

From the Virunga region bordering Uganda and Rwanda, home to Virunga National Park. Arabica arrived under Belgian colonisation in the late 1800s; production peaked in the 1970s-80s before declining through 1990s civil war and plant disease, and has seen a recent resurgence. Custard · Raspberry · Cinnamon

From the remote village of Lauca, grown by small-scale producers Samuel Muñoz and Raúl Ames on roughly 1-hectare farms, part of a three-family community new to coffee production. Cherries are pulped, fermented in open tanks for 36 hours, then washed; the warm, humid climate extends drying. Coffee is transported out by zipline due to minimal local infrastructure.
