Margo Coffee
Berlin, Germany
Margo Coffee is a small, Brazilian-owned specialty roastery in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, started by Gabi & Jone — a Brazilian couple who set out to show what Brazilian coffee can be when it is bought transparently and roasted with care. Every coffee is roasted to order (no finished stock is kept) and the whole line is sourced through a direct-trade partnership with Ocafi, a young team working for fairness and traceability with family farms around São José do Rio Pardo and Mococa in São Paulo. Margo delivers fresh across Berlin (postcodes 10115–14199) and runs a coffee cart at the Bauernmarkt on Seelower Straße every Saturday, where you can drink a brew and pick up beans.

Margo’s ode to what Brazilian naturals do best: an Obatã lot from Fazenda Pinheiro in the hills of Mococa, sun-dried in the fruit and roasted light-medium, dropped just past first crack to keep the fruit bright and the body silky. Deep, jammy sweetness — ripe dark cherry and dried plum with a soft stone-fruit finish. The most expressive coffee in the line: lively as filter, juicy as a modern fruit-forward espresso.
Dried berries, plum, chocolate

A medium-roasted, natural-process Arabica decaf that keeps the sweetness, low acidity and comforting chocolate-and-nut profile of traditional Brazilian coffee. Born in São José do Rio Pardo as a community blend from a collective of 40 local farms and brought to Berlin through Ocafi, with profits funding Ocafi’s social and environmental work in those farming communities. Best as filter (1:15, 90 °C, 3:00) or espresso (1:2, ~28 s).
Chocolate, nuts

Margo’s signature house blend, built for consistent, year-round quality. A well-balanced, creamy and sweet cup with chocolate, rich caramel and roasted hazelnut, drawn mostly from Ocafi’s three family-run farms — Fazenda Pinheiro, Fazenda Matão and Fazenda São Domingos — with selected local partners to match. Naturally processed Catuaí, Catucaí, Acaiá and Mundo Novo grown at 900–1,100 m, scoring 83–84 SCA. Works as filter (1:15, 90 °C, 3:00) or espresso (1:2.5, ~25 s).
