About this coffee
A fully washed AA-grade lot from the Kii Factory in Kirinyaga, on the slopes of Mt. Kenya, run since 1995 by the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society — over 850 growers, each averaging about 250 coffee trees on less than a hectare. Cherry is sorted and pulped, fermented 16–24 hours, washed in Kii River water and soaked a further 12 hours, then slow-dried around 14 days on raised beds; all process water is filtered through natural settling pits before returning to the river. AA is the largest screen size (17–18), giving a fuller, better-balanced cup — here citrus, fresh raspberry and smooth cocoa butter, juicy and elegant. Ideal on filter. Cupping score 87.
