Solberg & Hansen is Norway’s oldest specialty coffee importer and roaster, founded in 1879 and roasting in the Ryen district of Oslo, where it also runs a concept store. It supplies a large share of the country’s specialty cafés and sells single origins, micro-lots and classic blends.

Washed Pacas from Kelvin Osmary Pineda Domínguez, who returned to coffee in 2017 to start Finca Arianita on the steep Los Andes ridges of Santa Bárbara at 1,650 masl, in deep clay soil, keeping a hand on the whole value chain. This year's autumn espresso, grown by young farmer César Pérez Delgado on Finca La Mina in the hills above Moyobamba. The 15th-anniversary edition of Black Coffee, Solberg & Hansen's cult coffee born in Hell, Trøndelag in 2011 out of Norwegian black-metal culture. Natural-process Bourbon from Fazenda Barreiro near Poços de Caldas, Sul de Minas — founded in 1820 and still run by the founding family through Francisco Otávio Lotufo, with its own mill and 5,000 m² of drying terraces. Pedro Brás's experimental Geisha from Casa Brás in Serra da Canastra (Vargem Bonita, Minas Gerais), which took 5th place in the experimental-lot category at Cup of Excellence Brazil 2025 with a score of 89.11. Evening-picked cherries are fermented 72 hours in sealed barrels, then 72 hours on beds, then dried slowly over 42 days. Complex and juicy — cocktail berries, vanilla and floral notes. From Finca Los Planes in Citalá, Chalatenango — run by Sergio and Isabel Ticas, who put northern El Salvador on the specialty map with 2nd place at Cup of Excellence 2006. Certified-organic washed coffee from agronomist Tesfaye Bekele Degaga's privately owned Tade farm in Shakisso, Guji — a Solberg & Hansen partner for nearly 15 years, and traceable from picking to processing because the farm sits outside the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange. From the Gatugi washing station (built 1979) in Othaya, Nyeri, at roughly 1,850 masl between the Aberdare range and Mount Kenya, part of the Othaya Farmers Co-operative Society. A Kenya AA micro-lot from the Kii Coffee Factory in Gichugu, Kirinyaga, part of the Rungeto Farmers Co-operative Society and its ~4,000 members. A micro-lot from fourth-generation farmer Luis Alberto Balladárez, discovered through Cup of Excellence Nicaragua 2025. Finca La Bendición sits at 1,250 masl in the Jalapa district of Nueva Segovia, with half of its 155 hectares left as pine and deciduous forest.
