About this coffee

Complex, rich, elegant, bright. Blackberry, fresh citrus fruits, date syrup,  floral and tea notes. Kenya, as a coffee producing nation, is unique for a number of reasons: It grows coffee varieties that are almost exclusive to Kenya. Developed by Scott Laboratories in the 1930s varieties like SL 34 and SL 28 have been mainstays until the emergence of more recent hybrids like Ruiru 11 and Batian. It is not uncommon to graft the new varieties to older SL rootstock due to their deep root system, allowing for less water and nutrient demands. Source: caffefantastico.com (roaster’s own copy).
