Kross Coffee Roasters
Chania, Crete, Greece
Kross Coffee Roasters was founded in 2017 in Chania, Crete, by co-owners Sotos Michael, Katerina Mavromataki and Stavros Michael, who had run two Chania coffee shops together since 2010 before adding their own roasting. Ranked among The World's 100 Best Coffee Shops, the team roasts roughly 10 tons of coffee a year for their own shops and wholesale customers across Greece, sourcing heavily from smallholder farms and direct-relationship washing stations across Africa and Latin America. Kross now runs five coffee shops around Chania plus one in Pangrati, Athens, alongside "Black Eyed Kate," a dedicated pastry lab and retail space. Source: krosscoffeeroasters.com.
