About this coffee
Aquiares, growing coffee since 1890, is one of Costa Rica's largest and best-known estates; Don Alfonzo Robelo has run it since 1992, trialling varieties with World Coffee Research and ICAFE. The estate funds youth, health and school programmes and has helped workers buy their own homes.
